Sanatan Vidyalay
Sanatan Vidyalay (SV) is an educational program to preserve the knowledge, systems, values, and heritage of the Sanatan Dharma. The program is conducted online on Sundays (10am to 12 noon) during the school calendar year. The program begins with reciting prayers, chanting Vedic shlokas, and absorbing lessons from the Bhagavad Gita. Children between the ages of 5-18 learn about their heritage, including rituals, Puraans, Ramayan, the Mahabharat, and the principles, values, and goals of a Hindu life, within a supportive age-appropriate classroom environment. The Hindi language and Yoga are taught as well. The teachings are non-denominational and seek to include all regional variations.
We are a Sampradayic-neutral school. We respect all who have contributed to the teachings of Sanatan Dharma. Students participate in celebrating various festivals in the calendar year, culminating in the annual Heritage Day festival; an event highlighting cultural performances by SV students.
The school community maintains an active presence on its facebook page. For more information about Sanatan Vidyalay, please email SV@sknfoundation.org, call 908-671-1344, or visit http://sanatanvidyalay.org/. Registration is available online.
