Helping Your Child Explore, Grow, & Learn

SCOPE serves as a resource for health systems and the community to provide cultural competence resources to providers, and health and wellness related information to families. Ongoing parent-to-parent mentoring facilitates mutual support and understanding which provides a safe space and introduces parents to others with similar challenges and needs.

A Parent Support Specialist connects families to needed resources through the Parent Empowerment Program designed to build self-advocacy skills and training for the first year of a new diagnosis. Regular workshops and trainings address felt needs of parents of children with special needs (ex. IEP education, toilet training).

Inclusive social events provide safe spaces for children and families to socialize, to have fun and make friends in a judgment-free zone.

Testimonials

I have been highly impressed with the structure of the PEP program and how effective it has been for our family.

Being new to special needs parenting is scary and this program armed is with so much knowledge and resources we can tap into to support our daughter.

Tanvi

Parul proactively reached out to us and addressed our concerns. She prepared us for the IEP meeting, refining our response to school making it more professional. She participated in the IEP meeting, bringing great suggestions. The school took note of them; providing ELL for our son.

Ashu

We’ve stuck with SCOPE and made sure that we attend every one of your events for the last two years and each time SCOPE continues to surprise me.

It’s okay to have that sparkle and support and SCOPE is one of those places where I think they reinforced it.
