Dr. Sunil Parikh
Dr. Sunil Parikh is founding Chairman and President of Sight Saving Academy India, Inc. He has led the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services, Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Project BEST Program for more than 20 years – managing 34 no-cost screening clinics across the State of New Jersey. He is a leader in numerous volunteer and nonprofit organizations such as India Health Camp of New Jersey where he is Vice President, Central Jersey Indian Lions Club, World Vegan Vision, Govinda Sanskar Kendra, and Shri Krishna Nidhi (SKN) Foundation among others, all of which serve to improve quality of life for South Asians.
Dr. Parikh’s work has been published in the American Journal of Public Health and he has received many awards such as National Scholar of India, two New Jersey Governor’s awards, American Diabetes Association’s Trail-Blazer Award and Chairman’s Award, PRAHD’s Professional of the Year Award, and many more.
Dr. Parikh was trained as a physician in India and went on to earn his certification in Public Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University. One of his many goals in life is to enhance Hindi and Gujarati culture, music, dance, language, and tourism – aside from improving health outcomes for marginalized populations.
